This is a story of adventure, hardship, perseverance, sheer determination to make it, accomplishment, connection and awakening. Away from any 'borders and confines of life'  - as we otherwise know it - one with nature and God.
 
After a life-long desire to travel to Peru and trek Machu Picchu Mountain, I finally made it 31st August 2019 at the age of 61. I knew that when I got back home I would be painting a version of this 'Wonder of the World' - whatever interpretation would come forth.
 
As no doubt with many people who have made it to the top of Sun Gate looking down on the Citadel of Machu Picchu - I had an immense feeling of connection to something far greater than my body and what was surrounding me in pysicality. Once in the Citadel itself and during my tour, many times I felt a presence that was truly spiritual and it is this that I brought back with me to somehow replicate in the form of my creative expression of this magnificent and very special part of the world.
 
Music, as always played a huge part - listening to South American panpipes; also to music I had recorded on my journeys and even listening to the voice of the guide who told us the story of Machu Picchu. Listening, until I was fully immersed again - looking at the photographs I had taken when I reached Sun Gate, reliving that immense feeling of accomplishment and the connection to Spirit.
 
From here I began until the intuitive urge to put away photographs and any visual resources enabled me to just let it flow from me - Spirit working through and adding Egyptian elements of influence, plus the emergence of water as an element of protection yet with a complete serenity. A healing and sacred presence.
