It’s not very often that I pick up the pastel chalks – but when I do, it’s usually because I feel there’s something quite sensual and/or spiritual waiting to emerge... something that will require me to use my fingers to feel into the medium being used as I get into meditative state.
 
I wasn’t home when I started this pastel painting – I was still visiting with a dear friend in Glastonbury... and if you know anything about Glastonbury, you’ll know that it’s a place of immense spirituality. 
 
That same day in the morning, we had visited the Chalice Well and Gardens – “a place of sanctity, healing and peace, to soothe the soul and revive the spirits.”
 
It was a beautiful experience and later in the afternoon before heading back home, it seemed a perfect time to express some of what I felt coming through me. 
 
With the music of Enya playing in the background, about halfway through I knew what this painting was to represent and I could feel the healing energy coming through.
