Song of the Butterfly
Butterfly, how beautiful your sound;
that I should find you, what delight.
How easy; when I look in the right places,
my heart skips a beat at this sight.
I see your wings flutter, your movement so fine;
your colours striking; such beauty divine.
Soft; gentle; yet strength beyond compare;
long you have struggled but with courage and faith,
your love emerged, your splendour to share with the world...so fair.
Magic you sprinkle as you travel from flower to flower;
Sparkles so fine to spread sweetness hour by hour.
Your lifespan so short, yet your impact on our world so great;
how blest we are to have such beautiful eco-managers bring us health, 
these systems continue to pollinate.
Keep fluttering dear butterfly, 
sing your peaceful song for me.
In colour, in light... and soothing dance,
let me join your sweet melody.
